When painting en plein air, I try to capture the feel of my surroundings...from the glow of plant life to the buzzing hum of insects or the soft trickling of a creek.

Painting 'En Plein Air'

"En plein air" is a French expression meaning “in the open air,” and refers to the act of painting outdoors, capturing the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject. I paint dreamlike destinations and captivating views en plein air. I work with chalk pastel, oil pastel, and watercolor.
